All Schools Transitioning to Remote

All Huntsville City Schools will transition to remote learning beginning Monday, Jan. 24 through Friday, Jan. 28. Students will return to campus on Monday, Jan. 31. HCS is joining school systems across North Alabama in transitioning to remote learning due to the impacts of COVID-19 and staffing availability. Security

The Security Department is responsible for all Campus Security Operations, is the liaison with the Huntsville Police Department School Resource Officer Division, and manages all Security Operations in the District (which include but are not limited to facilities use management, ID badge issue and control, planning future security architecture, maintaining existing security architecture, and security training).

Mission

Huntsville City School's Security Office primary mission is to provide a safe environment for all students, staff and visitors.  We are also tasked with preventing damage and loss of property by responding to incidents quickly to maximize classroom uptime.

Preventative Measures:

  • Faculty & Staff - Call security when entering or leaving a building after hours and weekends

  • Faculty & Staff - Secure windows and doors in your area before you leave

  • Everyone - Report suspicious activity

  • Everyone - Take threats seriously

  • Everyone - Report outside lights that need repair
